Is it ok to buy designer “inspired” or “replicas”?
I’ve been shopping online for an authentic Louis Vuitton, but many designer “inspired” sites keep coming up. Some of these bags are almost impossible to spot as fakes. Isn’t there some sort of laws that don’t allow purchase of these? If so, how can these sites operate? Has anyone bought an inspired bag and been happy with it? Thanks!
There are laws against merchandise that is too similar to a trademarked product, but most “designer inspired” bags/etc. you see don’t cross those lines. What the problem is, is bags that will say a name like “PRADA” or “Louis Vuitton” or “JIMMY CHOO”. Those are the illegal ones. You’ll find a lot of sites like this aren’t based in the U.S. Even if they ship from the U.S, the site is being hosted in a foreign country that doesn’t have the same laws.
