Vizsla people only please: How long to run the dog at a time and in a day?
I have 2 Hungarian Vizslas. Both very healthy, muscular and strong. One is a 6.5 YO female the other is a 2.5 YO male.
How long at a stretch would you run the dogs under the following conditions:
- Scootering (where they pull an adult sized scooter on a bungee attachment)
- Biking (where they run along side the bike on a proper attachment (less pulling))
For the record: we always do this according to all local laws, with proper equipment, harnesses and on soft surfaces so I don’t think I need that part addressed

Depending on climate/weather conditions, of course. High humidity or heat will significantly affect how long and how many times daily you could do that.
For scootering, what I think would be a blast would be to hook-up both dogs using couplers (12″ lead, snaps on each end, ring in the middle) to the main bungee lead of the scooter. As this is obviously a pulling exercise, you also would want to be mindful of the terrain (hills, pavement, gravel, etc.). As you probably know, a dog’s pads while tough-looking are, in fact, very sensitive.
For biking, I assume by proper equipment you mean things like The Springer or the K-9 Bike Jogger and a body hrness with the attach point roughly in the middle of their backs.
Now, on to your question
Assuming: that your dogs are as healthy and muscular as you say tey are; temperatures in the 12-20 degree Celsius range and low humidity (and not blazing hot sunlight) … I would vote:
About 1.5-2 hours at a time and 2-3x per day.
PS: if you aren’t already doing this and your dogs are fit in terms of their weight, you might also want to up the quantity of food in their meals.
