Can the father bird green finch mate with his daughter bird? what would be the outcome?
yes they will. from my own experience with my finches & i have had a father/daughter set (in separate cages). i don’t think they remember their kids too much. this is how you get pure breeds but you must not let the father-daughter breed because the blood lines are too common/close. animal husbandry is a good subject to read up on. my opinion may not be correct….but it’s just that an opinion. i don’t breed my birds because it’s a LOT of work and nothing to play with.
you would most likely get more green finch, by the way one of my newest favorite finches. they are gorgeous and they sound beautiful. try not to let them breed, rather find other mates for them from a breeder.
