Cage Crate
I’m trying to convince my mom to buy a cage for my dogs to crate train them?
Just for Separation Anxiety.
But she does not understand how it works. And my best explanation is “It just does!”
So can you please explain how it works? (Please avoid big words. I also want to know exactly how it works too.)
They are about 5.5 months…
Don’t bark, they just destroy whatever they can find… they now have their own room (laundry room) but i want to bring them in the house
Putting your dog in a crate while you are gone is not going to cure the separation anxiety. The only thing it will do is prevent your dog from tearing up you house while you are gone. It could start barking and howling if you crate it.
What you need to do is try taking your dog for a good 20 to 30 minute brisk walk before you leave to tire her out some. Matter of fact walk her twice a day morning and evening. She may not be getting enough exercise. A dog displaying unwanted behavior is usually their way of telling us they need more than we are providing. Practice leaving for 5 minutes and come back in. Do not let her jump on you make her stay down. Reward her when she is calm. Keep doing this and increasing the minutes you are gone until you can be gone and hour with out incident.
