How much do you spend on maintaining a pet cat?
I agree with takecareofmycat. It depends. If I had to average it out, including litter, food, furniture, toys, etc….I would estimate that maintaining a cat without any medical conditions and not include regular dental would cost about $600 per year.
However, it can vary widely. One of my cats is hyperthyroid and has a large cyst attached to her liver (she’s 15 years old). For the past 3 years, she has cost me approximately $2000 per year. Another one of my cats has FLUTD, last year he cost approximately $1000 to maintain. So…things can come up. There is definitely no such thing as a free cat.
