Can I get the cat / pet smell out of a house?
I’m looking at buying a house that I love. The owners have a cat and a dog and I can smell the cat dander when I go in the downstairs (wood floors). I don’t smell it upstairs where there is carpet. Will the odor go away when the pets do (and the furniture and the owners)? Or is it in the walls? What can I do to get rid of it?
If the smell is cat urine,you’ll have to treat the source by applying a prouduct called Nature’s Miracle to the soiled spots. You’ll need to purchase a blacklite, it will illuminate area that was marked. Nature’s Miracle is an enzyme that eats away at the odor.You can buy it at any pet store. After applying it to the spots it will continue to work for 2 weeks. If a slight smell is still present apply again. This company also makes a product for removing skunk odor. Good Luck!
