Could this be caused from Frontline?

I gave my dog a bath and a week later I applied the frontline. I applied it on Feb 22nd and few days ago I noticed that he was itching really bad. Today when I came home from class I noticed that where he is really itchy he is losing his hair. He is 60 lbs and the tubes in the box are not what is suppose to be in the box it says on the outside 45-88 and the tube inside says 88-0. Could this be why my dog is real itchy? He wasn’t itching before. And all the itchy spots are from the neck down his back. He is only 9 months old. I have been using Frontline Top Spot
I got the frontline from a pet store in my area which is actually very popular. They do very well in business and the pound actually gets flea stuff from them all the time.

He very well could be allergic to the Frontline. Some dogs (and cats) do not handle any flea control well, and some just seem to be allergic to a certain brand. My dogs are on Frontline Plus and do just fine. My Rottweiler gets the one that I believe is 45-88 lbs (the one with the Dalmation on it), she weighs 85 lbs. On the back of the application it does say 88-0, I’m not sure why. My puppy gets the application that goes up to 44 lbs, and on the back of his it says 44-0. I’m not sure why they list it like that, but it’s fine and the dosage you gave your dog is the right one.

Now, if he is allergic to the Frontline, it should have been washed off of him as best as you could wash it off (as I know it is waterproof) immediately, as soon as he started itching and losing hair. It doesn’t sound like a horrible allergic reaction, IF that’s what is going on.

Your best bet is to call your vet and schedule an appointment for him as soon as you can to find out what’s going on with him.
