Best small to medium sized dog for an older man?
My grandfather lives with me and his wife lives in a nursing home. There fore he is alone a lot of the time. I am looking to get him a dog for his birthday as a companion. I was thinking a small to medium sized dog that has a low risk of health problems (hip and joint problems basically). It needs to be able to climb stairs and can possibly be a lap dog. However, i have no idea what to look for. I have cats so it needs to get along with cats. Any ideas?
